These dealerships accounted for more than 20% of all retail sales in the state of California.
Total dealership sales for the state of California surpassed $109 billion.
The average new car dealerships in California brings in $66.9 million in revenue per year each.
The total number of new vehicles sold in California was 2.049 million 
The total number of used vehicles sold in California was 1.459 million
The total number of new and used vehicles sold in California was 3.308 million. 
The average new car dealership in California pays an estimated $8.1 million in employee wages each year.
California is number one U.S. hybrid car sales with 26.5% of all hybrids being sold in California.
California dealerships spent more than $1.3 billion on advertising in 2006, with the average dealership spending $811,940 per year in advertising alone.

In addition to all of the above statistics, California dealerships donated almost $77.2 million to charitable and civic organizations in 2006.
